When the World Feels Loud
Matthew 24 and the Quite Call Not to Fear
Have you noticed it?
The noise.
Wars. Rumor of wars. Tension rising in places you never thought would shake. Headlines that feel heavier than they used to.
Jesus spoke about this long before our time. In the Gospel of Matthew chapter 24, He said these things would come.
Not might come. Would come.
But what He said next matters just as much.
See that you are not troubled.
Not afraid.
Not shaken.
Not pulled under by what you see.
That raises a question.
How do you not fear in a world that feels like it's unraveling?
What Do You Do When Everything Feels Uncertain?
Do you scroll more, hoping for clarity?
Do you wonder if things are going to get worse?
You are not alone in that.
Even the disciples asked Jesus what it would all mean. They wanted signs. Timeliness. Understanding.
Maybe you do too.
But Jesus didn't give them a survival plan built on fear.
He gave them something deeper.
What If This Isn't About Panic, But Position?
What if these moments are not meant to scare you...but to wake you?
To draw closer and not push you away?
Because fear pulls you outward into noise.
So the question becomes:
Where are you standing right now?
Are you rooted in what is happening around you or in the One who already sees what's coming?
What Are You Listening To?
There are many voices right now.
Some loud.
Some convincing.
Some designed to keep you anxious.
Jesus warned about that too.
So here's a simple question to sit with:
Whose voice is shaping your peace?
Is it the constant stream of information?
Or is it the still, steady voice of God?
Because one will leave you restless.
The other will steady your heart.
What Does " Do Not Be Afraid " Look Like Today?
It doesn't mean ignoring reality.
It means not letting headlines define your hope.
It means choosing to trust even when you don't understand.
It means coming back to Him again and again.
So maybe today looks like this:
Turning off the noise for a moment and turning your attention toward Jesus.
Not with perfect words just with honesty. " God, I feel the weight of what's happening but I choose to trust You."
Stay with that.
Let Him meet you there.
A Quiet Invitation
If your heart has been restless, if the world feels heavier than usual, if fear has been closer than peace, you don't have to carry that alone.
Jesus didn’t just warn about what was coming.
He made a way for you to stand through it.
So here's the question that matters most..
Where is your peace coming from right now?
